Podio MP3 Player

A new stereo MP3 player has been announced out of Taiwan. The player is called the Podio and it's designed to be small enough to fit in the hand or in the pocket but pack full and natural sound.

The device includes a full range driver and a proprietary MicroAMP. The player is housed in a cylinder shaped metal micro speaker 88mm long. All of the features and functionality of an MP3 player are integrated without the need to wear earphones.

The thing is designed with an eye towards cyclists with a handlebar attachment. Podio can play music for a full 20 hours per charge. Weight for the player is 139 grams and it has 2GB of internal storage for music. Power is from an internal lithium ion battery, it supports MP3, and WMA formats.

New Kindle 3

This Wednesday, at Pace University, Amazon will unveil the next new product in their line-up. This comes as a big surprise, as Amazon just revealed the Kindle 2 to the world back in February, but confirms the rumor we reported earlier today.

We've got no details on the new gizmo as of yet, but considering the fact that Amazon is partnering with the New York Times to make it, means it is most likely a big-screen media reader. Newspaper companies are hemorrhaging money right now, and It could be a way to get consumers to start paying for their newspapers again. Customers would just have to subscribe to the paper, and it would be 'delivered' to their reader every morning.

New netbooks from Samsung

Samsung Electronics America has announced the N110 and N120, new additions to the company's notebook lineup.

The N110 and N120 are both currently available with prices of US$469 and US$459, respectively.

The N110 netbook weighs 2.78lbs and features a 10-inch LED SuperBright Glossy Backlit Display, along with a 6-cell (5900mAh) lithium battery providing battery life up to nine hours of continuous use, claimed Samsung. The N110 is equipped with a 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive, the company noted.

The N120 netbook includes an SRS 2.1 channel system, featuring two 1.5W stereo speakers and a dedicated subwoofer, and integrated 1.3-megapixel camera. With a 6-cell (5200mAh) lithium battery the netbook can run six hours continuously, the company added.
